NZ utility Y2K test

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

Anyone recall reports of a New Zealand utility's Y2K roll-forward test conducted recently? Rumor has it that the testers were unable to get the systems back on-line and had to resort to just rolling the clocks back to current date/time. Rumor only, however - would appreciate any news items. Bob Barbour? Anyone? Thanks.

Sorry,

No printable verification on this rumour that I have seen.

I can confirm that an electrical utility, in remediating failed embedded systems, found supposedly manufacturers Y2K compliant replacement chips also failed on test. Not clear as to why replacements failed. The problems may have been generated (caused/created?) elsewhere. I talked directly with the Y2K engineer in charge.

Will update this if further info comes to hand...
