Excellent! It gives me a peaceful feeling. Lots of elements and still pleasing. This is tough to accomplish. The choice of shutter speed fits well. The water before the riffle has a creamy sort of look which imparts a gentle quality to the scene. The loss of detail in the background tree is nice.

Nice tonal and textural separation among the rocks, water, and trees. Nice clean composition of a potentially cluttered subject. I like the soft treatment of the bare trees, which have to be handled very carefully not to turn out ugly. I think it's the best of the b&w that you have shown.

This image really "talks" to me. Excellent!

Very nice, Mike. Just out of curiosity, what was the view like upstream? Not very often we see shots taken of rapids or tumbling shoals looking downstream. My only suggestion might be to crop tighter on the bottom... if you lost the (relatively) still pool in the foreground, seems to me there might be even more pictorial contrast between the rolling water and the motionless boulders.

I might have chosen a slightly longer shutter speed to further blur the water to (again) give more contrast with the sharp rocks.

But it's great as is!
