What do you do to relax?greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread |
Hi Folks,Time out timed out.. back from taking my lovely lady to the seaside. In the pre christmas period there was no-one on the beach, 5kms of golden sand and not a soul to be seen. Stayed in a friends 'batch' an open plan home on the beach front. Did a little fishing, read more Terry Pratchet, planned house layouts for new home. Got a three day tan. Enjoyed cooking and eating on a BBQ. Even washing dishes and doing household chores can be fun with the right person. Came back to a new 128k ram PC and a multiple OS system (dos, Win95,WinNT 4 and Redhat Linux), an experimental teaching platform. Sometimes some things work out OK, but I have to work very hard to get them that way. Nuff said.. took me 2 hours to catch up with the posts! Fascinating stuff.... from hilarious to poignant
So, what do you do to relax...

I certainly don't eat on a barbeque.........much too hot.........reminds me of an old jokeDo you know what burns my ass??
Answer: A flame 3 feet high.
As far as relaxation goes, my votes are for sex and hockey. Not at the same time though..........

WELCOME BACK, BOB!!!!!!!!
I love doing that, but didn't want to do it on the other thread. I thought it might be in bad taste. Glad you started your own thread. About relaxing: We went to the beach for a couple of days, this Thursday we are going to Colorado for 10 days. (Gotta do something to see snow!)

Walk in the rain *Sigh* and splash in puddles. Smell the crisp air. Have a cafe latte at my favorite coffee shop. Watch the holiday shoppers. Laugh at the crazy things kids do. Enjoy the simple stuff.

Some green bud, 4-wheeling in my 1980 Toyota 4x4, blasting the Doors and Big Mama Thornton on my stereo, and at the end of the trail relaxing by a campfire.

Green bud? Sounds like bad beer to me....Now Craig about this sex and hockey bit - do the pads get in the way? What about the mask? And where does the net go? (Or is that personal?)
And skidding aorund like that on skates - doesn't your bottom get cold? Seems like you'd kinda bounce back and forth and never get anything useful accomplished.

Robert: Ha, Ha, Ha, ROTFLMAO!!!

Thanks for the welcome in large letters... The point about eating on a BBQ is correct..shuffle shuffle, promise to be more careful..The post about the Gartner Group's predictions is interesting. Can anyone provide the evidence on which the 33% for New Zealand is is based? May help me revise my 50% estimate upwards..
