Backlit wildflower:

Film: Kodachrome 64. Camera: Pentax Spotmatic. 50mm/1.4 lens with extension tubes. Handheld. This was a part of a series that I called zero depth-of-field images. I took them about 12 years ago with the 1.4 lens almost wide open. Exposure was generally +1 to +1.5 stops over the cameras "normal exposure" to create bright and translucent colors. This is the image of backlit wildflower with an orange tulip in the background.

Bahman,

I must say, you have mastered creating great abstract images with your "zero d.o.f." technique. Most of the work I have seen in this style has not been worth a second glance, but I enjoy yours a lot.

Maybe, I'll try some myself; my photo enthusiasm has about bottomed out and a complete round-about change like this may help perk me up.

Thanks!

Frank

Very painterly! The blossom looks like paint dabs. This photo has potential for stock ad use as well; with the large orange area to carry a text message. Very nice.
