Why aren't more people Dropping aol?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Corporate Suckup Forum : One Thread

Honestly...
How many people can stay connected to it at 56K? Cheesey mail features only allow AOL to block domains or you can do each address individually, they are behind the times, their proxy's lag, and their tech support is hired from temporary agencies. you pay $21.95 for a service that trys to keep you offline, and overruns you with ads inles you constantly change your preferences.... I switched less than a month ago, Its amazing.... For the first time since before i got aol, a tech help didnt say " well sir, it is a problem with your system and I suggest calling the manufacturer... problem is I am the manufacturer and Its not my system dumbass, its the AOL software. They have the worst security system I have seen, and Actually SUPPORT the pedophilic trading that goes on. They have a TOS that they constantly allow preferred customers and employees to violate, and They try to continue billing you after you cancel your account. .... ok I'm done venting...

I was and once an AOL member. Until version 4 came out, I stopped. Why, because version 4 came bundled with Internet Explorer 4 (which I really despise using). I had to think clearly for the latter. AOL then bought Netscape. AOL never did shipped or bundled Netscape's Navigator ever since the merge. I may never know why...

...Now, AOL has the (~!@#$%^&*+_|}{":?<>) to price $21.95 per month.

I cannot beleive how fricking lame version 4.0 is----we use it at work, and it screws up about every other day!!!! version 3.0 was not bad---every time i called tech support they told me it was a corrupted file---and to reinstall it----oh boy did that work well-----NOT. AOL is SH*T.....

I'd throw my computer in the dumpster before I'd use AOL. Their stupid assed TOS crap exposes their mentality.
