Hi.. I found a source for NEW 55 gallon food grade drums (closed top) I just had 6 delivered. The company is located in Fairfield, New Jersey. The name is Nick Foglia Drum Co. I have their phone number at home. (I'll post it when I get home this evening)

The price was $25.@ NEW! They charged me $10 for delivery of all 6 to my home (via their own truck -- I assume they can ship via UPS or equiv.) They charge $36. for the open top new drums... The only problem I had with them is that they don't sell pumps or wrenches. I ordered them from watertanks.com

Thank you for the offer - make sure you fwd the 7% tax on the 5% commission Ed Yourdon gets on every sale made off this site to Craig's address. Gotta keep them Canuck's paid off soes they don't come south. 8<)

Now, if we could store a whole mess of those things in some place convenient, Chevron is going t be looking for a place to put a lot of oil and refinery by-products in just a few months.....

Richard, I am very interested in the phone number of the place you found that sells 55 gal. drums for 25.00. This is the one area of preparation that bothers me the most. We have a total family of 6 and have very limited resources. We are just above the poverty level, but are very happy and rich in love. We are making as many preparations as we can. Water storage bothers me because the new drums are usually between 40.00-60.00. The y2k sourcebook advertises a site that sells them for 19.95, but the y2k sourcebook is 195.00. I could spend that money for new drums! Any suggestions? I live in the Texas panhandle and think the S&H on your drums from New Jersey would probably increase the cost significantly? I am hesitant to buy used drums from anywhere. I think we have a coca-cola bottling plant here. Are they really safe? Thanks

God has blessed us and we have found metal drums for free that had corn syrup in them, should be fine for drinking water storage PROVIDED we can get them cleaned out.....does anybody know how to clean these things out......they've been sitting for awhile, inside is in good condition BUT bugs etc. the tops only have a small round opening. I've got some ideas but was hoping some of you have already gone this route. Is there any reason why you can't just put a large plastic bag for a liner if you can't get it perfectly clean and jsut use it from there?
