Hi Eric,

I am hoping you can help me with this: I have a NT 4.0 server that has been changed to another name. Since the SQL server that resides on it has a different name now, I would like the change the name so that it matches the nt machine name. I have been searching in the SQL Server 6.5 administrator's companion but I can't find anything.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

sp_dropserver go sp_addserver , local

Then stop and restart SQL Server.

Eric,

I see by running the two stored procedures that it does change the name in the sysservers table. However when I use the enterprise manager, the name is still unchanged. Is there anything else I need to change?
