Ground Squirrel, Logan Pass in Glacier National Park, Nikon N70 and sigma 400. It was harder to get a shot of this little guy than the mountain goats that strut down the board walks.

Nice, Larry,

The soft colors and light look quite natural to my eye. The cropping is unconventional in that there is little are for the squirrel to be looking into, but in this case I don't mind as I get the feeling that it is overlooking an abyss (the edge of the frame is a substitute).

Your film choice is of interest to me as I rarely get this nice subdued color from the latest Kodak emulsions and the Velvia look-alikes. It looks a little richer than Kodachrome, so I suspect a Fuji film other than Velvia/Provia, et al.

good job on a tough subject. and, at the size presented, that sigma lens ain't exactly chopped liver...

The squirrel was over looking an abyss (or at least what we here in Florida would call an abyss). The pro I bought the lens from told me to shoot sensia 100, that is all he shoots with his $10,000 nikon setup. I've swithed to elite 200 and it looks good projected or on the web, but I haven't made an enlargement yet. I worry that the grain may be a problem and I'm thinking of going back to good old cheap sensia. Thanks for your comments.
