My freind on-line says his Sony one does. PAL? You English too? Where do you get your VCD's and how much?

In order to equip my home theatre with the most compatible player to several media formats, I chose for the PIONEER DVL-909. It is a combine player which supports DVD (all regions if you want to), LaserDisc (PAL/NTSC), VCD (PAL/NTSC), CD-I, CD-Rom (the video elements) and CD. It always reads the material on the discs in their recorded format and only provides you with a widescreen or 16:9 format if you wish to (unless the carrier has the material only in 16:9 recorded of course). The player is sold for approximately 1.400 EURO, but offers you enormous possibilities (DOLBY DIGITAL, OPTICAL OUTPUT, OSD, ...). Just check out the equipment links on my homepage. www.geocities.com/Hollywood/Location/1105/index.htm

hey, I live in the US and have lot's of european PAL VCDs. Does anyone know which player will show properly PAL VCD on NTSC TV (w/o cutting bottom lines)?

The only solution I found is to use computer DVD-drive with Hollywood+ Decoder card - it shows correct picture on NTSC TV when playing PAL VCD.

thanx.

My opinion is that the Pioneer DV-717 or DVL-919 are the best choices. They can be region free, they read all mediums (CD-R, CD-RW) and they output both PAL and NTSC.
