Nice image. I especially like how you captured some of the ibis in flight with a slow enough shutter speed to show the motion of their wings, while others are apparently motionless and sharp. I think I might crop out the very left-hand side of the photograph, just to the right of the two "blurred" birds. I think cropping it like this creates a nice balance between the "in-focus" birds on the left and the "in flight" birds on the right.

Wow, this is a GREAT shot. I certainly agree, if you just barely cropped the left side like mentioned above, I'd want it in my portfolio or on my wall!!! Good job....can you provide us with some technical data?

As far as technical data are concerned: I used a Nikon F4, and the mirror lock-up did come in handy in this case. Shutter speed was around 1/8th of a second (I think), which is otherwise a bit shaky with Nikons. Obviously, the camera was on a tripod (Bogen 3021), and I used a cable release. The lens was the Nikkor ED-IF 300mm f/4 at f/4. It's on Fuji Velvia. And yes, I have the image hanging on my wall, and in the Ciba print the green of the trees and the red of the ibis's beaks comes out much better. In the print I also ended up cropping the left part of the image, which actually is a good idea. Thanks for the comments!
