This has some potential but the composition doesn't work for me. The falls are too small. The rock face and stream bed seems to be the compositional center point. IMO the photographer should have moved in a little closer to emphasize the water fall.

This looks like the standard snapshot of Looking Glass Falls taken on a sunny day, probably with a wide angle from the end of the walkway. I too think that you should have zoomed in closer to the falls, waited for a cloud to go by to decrease the excessive contrast and used a neutral density filter to extend the exposure. There is also a good shot of the falls from the large rocks which are downstream, setting up your tripod there and incorporating the streambed into the composition. Keep shooting and be sure to include the basics for waterfalls. Cloudy days--tripod--velvia--tripod--polarizer filter--tripod--neutral density filter. Larry
