Nice composition, colors are a little harsh for my liking. But being an avid backpacker I understand that when your on the trail (or crosscountry) and you run across a scene like this you just have to have it. No matter the time of day.

I like this shot a lot. The composition in my mind is just fine. Maybe, just to be picky, you could have dropped out the bottom quarter, about where the stream exits. You did a real nice job as it is.

Nice landscape. Nice composition. The lighting is a bit contrasty. I too would crop out the bottom quarter, about where the stream exits the photograph.

The above email and name are faked because i refuse to give this spammer my email. I think you pretty much assured your domain will be banned from this server just for being an ass. I hope whoever posted this here gets fired and then tar and feathered.

enjoy

Say what? In case any confusion is caused by this rather odd message I can assure you all that I am not a spammer and have never committed a heinous act against the web community.. in short, If I am accused of anyhing, I deny it all.

Re: Comments. I have to agree with cropping away some of the foreground. It is disturbing having your eye drift down the creek into the edge rather than the corner of the frame. Thanks.

When you hit the reply to button to make a comment you end up with a huge "XOOOM" message banner. That was what i was referring to, maybe my computer is buggy but i dont see an image all i see is the Xooom graphic i can email waht i see to anyone thats interested.

-- al (nissar@idt.net), October 27, 1998.

I only see an image that says XOOM as well. No streams or anything of the sort. It's not just you, Al.

It all works fine for me. Probably a temporary glitch at Xoom.com

Nice image, but we currently have a 50K size limit (please read the rules). I'll leave it here today, but it will be deleted if the size isn't reduced. Rules is rules I'm afraid.

Looks like a beautiful place. Unfortunately, it doesn't make that big of an impact on me. The light is harsh in the midday sun. I'm sure that this is a difficult place to get to, so it would be tough to do a late-late afternoon photo.

Compositionally, I would suggest getting closer and going wider.

In case it helps, when I view this picture with MS IE 3.0, I see a XOOM.COM logo. When I view this with Netscape 3.01, I see a nice shot of a high country waterfall. I too would have considered having the falls exit the frame closer to the lower left corner and also wonder what this would have looked like if you could have slowed down the shutter speed (not hand held).

With Netscape Explorer 4.07 I see only the XOOM icon. Still. It was not a temporary thing. It's happening right now.

I'm still getting a bunch of email compliants about this image not loading. All I can say is I've accessed it from two different systems, using two different ISPs, and the image (now under 50K - thanks!) has loaded fine every time for me. FWIW I'm running Netscape Communicator 4.04 under Windoze 95 on both PCs. So it's not a scam or an ad, it's a legitimate image. Xoom.com seems to have some problems at times with some browsers and from some ISPs.

I too have seen the xoom logo.. maybe they can tell that the graphic is being served from xoom to another site, and they have arranged for their logo to be passed instead (rude!). Sorry about the confusion this has caused, I wont do this again. If you go to the xoom image and click on view image you see the image, alternatively it is shown on the page:

I too only saw the Xoom logo (2 different browsers & ISPs), but upon right clicking and "view image" saw correct post and it then appeared correctly when I hit the back button. But we're not here to comment on server glitches (whomsoevers). Nice composition, just wish the red/purple flowers were in sharper focus. Scanning and compression artifacts very noticable, but that can be redone. Probably would have cropped about a 1/4 way up from bottom so water flowed into lower left corner and rock into lower right. Thanks for posting - spam us some more! Lee

I am sure it was a grand sight, but as a picture I find it mildly boring. I keep scrolling it up and down on my monitor and don't find much of interest that hold my eye. Sorry...
