I see a lot of postings dealing with how to spread the word. How many of us have Web pages or are working on a site and including Y2K information there? Suppose we each did a web site...there's how many of us here? That's how many new opportunities to disseminate the information?

If you build a web site, and include Y2K/emergency information therein, you can always say 'hey, check out my web pages...put up those pictures of the house remodel/the kids/all that genealogical information I've been collecting' or whatever...and when they get there, and there's a link to Y2K info, you've empowered one more person.

And you can add the URL as a signature line on all your email, too. If you don't have a website yourself, add the URL for one of your favorites--www.yourdon.com !--instead. Bring the subject up in any discussion/mail list groups you're in, too.

Faith's site is excellent. I've sent it to the members of my city's council of leaders....There is such good information on the Internet...The problem is that the media spin to stay asleep is very strong...

I pepper family and friends with URLs to check out for Y2K information. There is a readiness level that has to be reached for many to hear, see, listen and respond...it is very individual and to my knowledge not respective of socio-econonic or education leel....As we all well know...some very bright people who "don't get it."

Keep gently pointing and telling...it is the best approach...two cents worth from an experienced counselor who learned you cannot blast people out of entrenched denial...you must put in some time and gently encourage.

I spend at least 6 hours a day on my website, Y2K Survive (www.y2ksurvive.com), doing research, answering e-mail, updating links, writing and rewriting articles etc. I receive many e-mails daily in which people tell me how much they appreciate the information I'm providing. The more people we can save, the better off we all are.
