Video CD 2.0 provides some extra features like menus (so you could select a particular music video, for example). They're backward-compatible, so a VCD player that supports Video CD 2.0 will be able to play 1.0 VCDs.

Hmm, if I am not mistaken, I believe VideoCD 1.0 is the PHILIPS CD-i Digital Video Discs, which most VCD players CANNOT play.

VideoCD 2.0 is the Standard VCD format also created by PHILIPS.

I have an Amiga CD32 gane sytem with the FullMotion Video Card, which playss all of these.
