Interesting texture. It's also nice being able to see some of the animal underwater because of the pola filter. How did you get so close?

Thanks, Mike. This alligator was swimming down a canal that I was walking next to. It was on the other side and I got down as close to the bank as I could without stepping off into the water. Darn 210mm lens. I wasn't afraid of it though, and it made no attempt to make me unwelcome (hissing, etc). I've been hissed at before, but not this time. I shot quite a few shots and I liked a couple of them. This is one.

Joe, Well done. The crispness of the photo is great, considering that you were hand-holding at 1/60. I really like the combination of being able to see the gator underwater as well as the reflections of blue sky and vegetation. Exposure looks right, too. Can't help you with critical suggestions on this one. BTW, this looks quite similar to a shot I posted a while back. Have you been copying my work again?

Ha! Peter you're right! This does look like the same gator you placed an image of here. Wow! That's amazing... If it is the same animal (which it is, as you know), why did yours draw so much more input than this one?

Note: I posted another picture in this series at http://sunrise.scu.edu/photo for crtique, just so you all know. I hope that you all check that site as well as this one. There is some quality work being done there as well.

Nothing new, I'd just like to chime in with the other guys who think that being able to see some of the gator underwater is pretty cool. Good idea!
