Community Preparation Directory The purpose of this Millennium Salons Shared Resource is to create an efficient directory and communications network for individuals and communities engaged in year 2000 community preparation efforts. Use this directory to add or look up a contact in your area, and to find out what others are doing in their areas. Please read and follow the instructions carefully...

Instructions:

(Note: No advertising of products, services, or general y2k-related web sites here please. The purpose of this directory is to create connections between people and organizations who are working to reduce the problem and stregthen their communities. Thank-you.)

To add your contact information, click on your country/sub-division (state, province, etc.) name, check to see that the addition of your information won't be a duplication of effort in your area, and then click the link at the bottom of that page that says "Contribute an answer to..." etc.. Then please enter your information in this order:

1. The Appropriate "major sub-division" of wherever your are. For instance: If this were the US: Ohio thread, the first thing we'd like to have appear is your county name.

2. The "nickname" of the area you're in (if there is one - "Tumolt Valley Area," etc.).

3. The city or town you're in or near.

4. Your name.

5. Your community's y2k URL - if applicable.

(Your email address will be automatically entered by the software).

Important Minor Point: Please enter two carriage returns after each item on the above list so that there is a blank line between each... (There's a slight idiosyncracy in the software that will, for some reason, run short, single-spaced lines together.) The finished product will wind up looking something like this:

(You can copy the above off the screen and use it as a template in your post. That's what I did, and I'm the person who wrote the instructions! The "old Chinese saying" is true, I guess: "The faintest ink is better than the best memory." Much easier, anyway.)

If there's some special, area-related or additional contact information you'd like to add, feel free. But let's keep the database as clean and simple as possible. Please don't add general commentary to this forum. This forum is strictly for building the directory. Please use the Millennium Salons forum for your comments, ideas, questions, etc., concerning community preparation. If you have any general comments, questions, suggestions concerning this directory, you can include them in this thread by clicking the link at the bottom of the page that says, "Contribute an answer to Directory Instructions - Please read before posting..."

If you would like your country added to this directory, please send an email that mentions that, and includes an alphabetized breakdown of the subdivisions of your country in the same format you see here, i.e. Country: states, provinces. Send your message and list by clicking on the email link that follows immediately.
