William on a TV series?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : William McNamara Bulletin Board : One Thread

Someone posted the comment that William McNamara was considering joining a TV series. I hope it's something meaty like "The Practice" or "Ally McBeal," or even "Felicity." He's too good an actor, and too idiosyncratic, to be dropped into something where he'd be just another pretty face, a la "Melrose Place" or "Baywatch" or similar series. IMHO (in my humble opinion), his best performances have been ones where he's hinted at long-suppressed anger/passion, or an unusual quirkiness you wouldn't expect to find in your average "pretty guy." David E. Kelly could do wonders with him, and really give him a chance to show off his comedic and dramatic range. Good luck, Bill!

Yes, I couldn't agree with you more. While I think he is very good looking there is so much more to him then just the "pretty guy" thing. I have not seen everything he has been in but I was very impressed with the movie where he played a gay person trying to deal with that. I don't remember the title. It seems like when the person he is playing has to deal with an internal issue he is able to bring that out without words and in a natural way.

I didn't even know that it was Bill who played the killer in Copycat. I'm going to watch it again now.

If he were on TV ever week in a good show like The Practice or ER, I would make it a point to watch each week. Maybe he needs a better agent or David Kelly's phone number?
