Raising Neighborhood Awareness

An email pal and I were kicking around possible slogans for raising awareness this morning and came up with "Is Your LIFE Y2K Compliant?" I'm going to make up a bunch of little cards with those words and just leave them everywhere I go: in shopping carts, on grocery store shelves, on bulletin boards I come across. Just scattering seeds, you know. Heck, may get transfer paper for the printer and make a t-shirt! Put "Ask me about Y2K" on the back.

Meanwhile, I have a neat tri-fold pamphlet, with graphics, outlining the problem, citing recent statistics, the need for preparation, basic steps to take. Can be used in any community. Can only send email to those who have Word 97, but will send a master copy to anyone who sends me their snail mail address.

Also, I discovered that the American Red Cross has a wonderful video for kids on disaster preparedness. It's called "Adventures of Disaster Dudes" and comes with a Presenter's Guide to help big people present it to little people. Stock # A5024. Might be great for a Sunday School class, or for use by any teachers out there. Call your local chapter for info on ordering.

Someone was kind enough to send me the URL for a viewer that lets you read a Word97 file even if you don't have Word. So I can send my pamphlet to anyone now! Feel free to ask. Another reader tells me it works great.

Another y2k slogan (lifted from an online news headline): Y2K Ready--or Not?

Faith, a variant on your last slogan:

Y2K: Ready or not, here it comes!
