Not a bad shot...but I can't help but feeling that one of the two peaks should be the subject of the image, but both are cut off. Also, the light is a little harsh, and the image may have benefitted from more of a dawn or sunset exposure.

I agree with Jon, there is something missing. It seems like there are small stones and such visible in the water, so a vertical composition including more of those might be a good idea.

I think the image is very good, but if I had to change anything, I would bring a little of the foreground into the image. Show the stones on the shore to give the image more depth. Other than that I think it's great. Keep up the good work.

This is a fairly boring photo. I think this picture could benefit from something in the foreground like a tree and/or rock. I have taken photos from this exact same spot, but mine look quite different (and, I think, better). You can see the images at my web page for comparison.

The first one is a black and white: http://www.mindspring.com/~jwc3/tanaya1.htm

The second is color: http://www.mindspring.com/~jwc3/tanaya2.htm

(I know, I misspelled Tenaya.)

Notice how I have included objects at three different distances from the camera - some are close, some are in the middle, and some are very far. Having objects at various distances and positions within the image usually gives the viewer much more to look at. They can look at each object and how they relate to each other.

Our images also differ with respect to color. Your image seems overly red, making the sky almost purple instead of blue.

I hope these comments help.

Hope you didn't trip and hurt yourself in the other tripod holes. You were there and missed a chance to do something different. It's even overexposed a stop.Next time throw a stone into the water and throw it so as to impart some interesting lines in the water. Something, anything befor I fall asleep.
