William Bronson? book:The Earth Shook, the Sky Burned, has a description of the weather at the time of the quake.

Just in passing, Mark Twain wrote a very amusing earthquake weather report in one of his pieces for the Examiner back then, though prior to the Big One. Can't give you a citation, but shouldn't be too hard to find.
