Are there any computer utilities for vcds???

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Video CD : One Thread

hi i'm a big fan of vcds!!!! and i recently bought a panasonic portable vcd player. i think vcd is great because its cheap and compact.

before when i bought the vcd player, i use to watch it on the computer. but now i'm interested if there is any utilities or shareware that can cut a favorite scene off a vcd and paste it onto it own dat file or any converting *.dat files to avi or mov or something?

This falls under the category "...or something."

Using Media Player and Photosuite I have been able to do a 'Screen Capture' and save a VCD image as a jpeg file. I too would like to know about sampling a 'scene' from a VCD.

iFilm Edit 1.4 or Adobe Premiere are both excellent for cutting clips of movies from VCDs.
