I find it too top heavy. IMHO the image looks better with a good portion of the thick top branches eliminated. Ted.

I don't find the tree all that interesting, especially since it is only a silhouette. It be more pleasing to my eye as part of a different composition - like the one in the lower right hand corner.

As a rule of thumb, I would say that anything that occupied such a major part of the image should be inherently very interesting - shape, texture, lighting, whatever.

IMO having the tree to the left side instead of centered would help. The right side is more interesting as Frank suggests and this allows for those interesting elements to become part of the compostion. A zoom lens would help bring in the background better.I would suggest if the tree were on the left side it would have to be smaller to fit in.

I like the contrast of the siloette against the water, I think its bold. In addition I find it interesting how the siloette interacts with the differences in the background. The image reminds me of places I've been.
