the Zahir

Borges in his short story the Zahir mentions objects and creatures that are so vivid and striking in their appearance that one after seeing them finds one thinking of them almost constantly.

Well barring that a fixation of this sort would distract a person from all other things NOT just often but constantly and barring that the experience should be painful perhaps it would be good for people to find and seek a Zahir like experience .

Perhaps enormous rocks, cubes of ice, could serve as Zahir .

Also perhaps a man with a fat face and a Mexican cowboy hat seen in a Greyhound station might serve as a Zahir.

Or strange tumbleweeds.
