O scale ACL wooden cabooses, 1950 era

greenspun.com : LUSENET : ACL and SAL Railroads Historical Society : One Thread

I am looking for information on O scale ACL wooden cabooses from 1940 to 1958, or any related model that can be used as a substitute. Can anybody help with info?

Stand by. There is enterprise in the works to produce the M3 in a high quality resin kit. Stay tuned for information. We will probably not get around to beginning design of the kit until after the first of the year.

In model only in HO, but I feel for you. To my, knowledge, there is no commercially-made M-3 or M-4 in O gauge. Overland Models imports a brass version of the M-3 for a couple hundred dollars each, but I have never seen an Overland advertisement for an HO equivalent.

Now what? You are stuck doing what I did 3 times so far: scratchbuilding an M-3! Kit-bashing is out, because the design of these cabins is unique to ACL and its subsidiaries. I have not seen anything that comes close enough to adapt.

To scratchbuild, you will need plans and photos. This is where Larry Goolsby can help.
