i WANT TO kNOW IF SOME BODY HAS A LIST OF SOFTWARE PRODUCTS THAT NOT COMPLIANT FOR Y2K OR IF YOU KNOW SOMETHING ABOUT A SPECIFIC PRODUCT TELL ME

NBS Internet Marketing www.nim.com.au 1996 has an article titled The Good the Bad, and the Ugly (they have a UK web site also at -www.demon.co.uk) this site covers personal computers compliance ratings and gives a list of The Good those that pass the RTC test, The Bad those that fail RTC test, and The Ugly software that fails. Also Greenwich Mean Time have tested 4000 shrink wrapped softwear packages for year 2000 complieance and can be contacted on www.gmt-2000.com if you want to review their results. These web sites should help get you started

The question was about software... but the previous respondant was correct to add that the Real-Time-Clock in some older PCs may be incapable of handling Y2K dates (or even leap-year/Y2K dates). The same is true for many older AND NEWER PC BIOSes.

The company I work for develops Network/PC Management software. Our NETinventory product can perform a BIOS/RTC test on PC Hardware. It can also identify a large number (over 4,000) common software packages. Of these 4,000+ software applications that our product can identify through a LAN/WAN, we have been able to get Y2K compliance information for approximately 500 of those applications from the product vendor. "Y2K Compliance" is a tricky term to define. NETinventory provides several levels of compliance that can be associated with any "identified" software application. We update our Master Software List frequently and post it on our Website. Please feel free to check our products out at:
