Should I worry about Russia's Nukes?

The following news story was passed on to me.

MOSCOW - Russia's Atomic Energy Ministry will wait until 2000 to fix any computer glitches arising from the Millennium Bug, a spokesman said Friday. "We don't have any problems yet," spokesman Vladislav Petrov told The Associated Press. "We'll deal with the problem in the year 2000." The Millennium Bug is a worldwide threat because many computers - originally programmed to recognize only the last two digits of a year - may be unable to distinguish between the years 2000 and 1900 - since their codes represent those years as simply 00.========

Does this sound like they will be ready in time? Would you go on a tour of a Russian nuclear power plant on January 1, 2000?

Don't think I'd like to live in Poland or other down-wind countries, either. Getting out of there is REALLY relocation.
