Pregnancy and childbirth plans in Y2K

I haven't seen any postings about how people will deal with pregnancy and childbirth in Y2K. I am a nurse in a hospital Labor and Delivery unit and also have experience in midwifery. I plan to be ready to give prenatal care and do home deliveries in my area. I'm not sure if hospitals will be able to cope then.

Women who might become pregnant might want to begin planning on how they'll deal with this health need.

Mary, If most every other area of our lives will be returning to another era, this must also include the most basic of life's events, namely childbearing. As the mother of 8, there isn't too much I haven't been through with my own childbirth experiences. I would be more than willing to assist anyone God puts on my doorstep, including a woman in labor or near her time. Those of us who feel qualified and prompted of God in this regard should include birthing/newborn/postpartum supplies in our preparations. I have taken care of this. Personally, I feel this would be a real blessing on our whole family to be able to help bring a new life into the world. Sort of like a breath of fresh air in the midst of great turmoil. God bless your efforts, Mom

Having my fifth baby in the first week of December this year.... plan to have him/her at home anyway... we just use homeopathy and other natural medicines to get us through it..

Having the babies is the easy part. Taking care of them after y2k will be the challenge. Will I have enough arnica? Slippery Elm? clean water???

email me anytime, or visit my site for more info. Be well, Michelle
