6/5/98 New Report

FAA closed 3 New York airports today due to a computer glitch in the air traffic control system. Does Y2K have anything to do with it?

I also heard that Air Force One was lost on the FAA's radar for 36 seconds while Clinton was on his way to Boston. They blamed the problem on glitches in "new" software. Sounds like the new software is being rushed into use before it's ready...

Here's the web-site to the New York Times 6/5/98 article "Air Force One Disappears From Radar" by the Associated Press 9:13 pm EDT www.nytimes.com/a/AP-Airport-Delays.html Seems like it's not the first time this year this has happened over New Jersey.
