Team Progress : LUSENET : Florida State University Rowing : One Thread

I was a member of the team when it was founded. I was there when our first two boats were bought and rowed and coached novices from 1991-1994. I am now the Girls head coach at Boone High School in Orlando, after coaching for two years at Winter Park. I am still in contact with many of the members from those first few years and I know most of them would like to help out the team and recieve information about what is happening with the team. I am excited about the progress that the team has made and look forward to the future of FSU crew.

Hi Matt,

Thanks for your continued interest in FSU crew. We have just finshed probably our best season ever, with three boats going to the Dad Vail regatta in Philadelphia to compete for the national club championship. Two of those boats won their first heats, but bad weather forced us to come back to Tallahassee before getting a chance to finish the race. We have remained a power in the ACC, consistently finishing in the top three and we are looking to grow so that we can compete at even higher levels.

We really want to keep in touch with oour alumni, but that is sometimes pretty hard since we don't know where everybody went. Right now we are trying to compile an alumni mailing list so that we can send everyone a newsletter that we should have out by mid-August. If it wouldn't be too much trouble, could you email me a list of alunmi names and addresses that you have. I'm sure that you know that money is extremely tight for rowers, so any and all help that you or anyone else wants to give will help us immensly.

Thanks again for keeping in touch. Hopefully, with this newsletter, and your help, we can reach a lot of alumni and hopefully get them interested in FSU crew again. If you need anything from me, please email me and we'll try and help in any way we can. Thanks again.
