Get a piece of 'Titanic' history! -- Reproduced! : LUSENET : TitanicShack : One Thread

HICKORY, North Carolina (AP) -- You've seen the movie several times. You've got the compact disc. Now you can own a reproduction of a piece of furniture from the "Titanic." A North Carolina furniture maker is copying nearly two dozen pieces of furniture from the ship's first-class staterooms, dining rooms and smoking lounges. The reproductions include a settee, a dressing vanity, gaming tables, beds, corner desks and lounge chairs.

The company says the least expensive piece in the new collection will cost about $750. The most expensive item, a carved sideboard, will set you back about $4,000. The company has consulted with historians to make sure each piece is as authentic-looking as possible. The furniture should be available to consumers by mid-summer.
