TRYING TO LOCATE MARKETS FOR ORGANIC PRODUCE

greenspun.com : LUSENET : David's Organic Forum : One Thread

I have recently purchased a small farm in the Northern Rivers area and am awaiting organic certification. I am interested in hearing from anybody who can suggest possible markets for the existing crops of avocados, kiwi fruit and passionfruit. Any responses will be welcome.

Thanks - Amanda.

Hi, Amanda. I work in a natural foods store and we buy produce from local organic growers for resale. I know of some restaurants that are thrilled to get locally grown organics. I've seen ads in our area guidebook, The Holistic Resource, offering weekly delivery of seasonal fruits and veggies to busy professionals. We have a large farmers market, too. If you are limited to just a few varieties of fruits, could you contact a broker who works with a company like "After the Fall" or "Santa CruZ", they make organic juices. etc. Good Luck!

Wholesale Markets?

Amanda, are you looking for an outlet? Or a place to purchase? There are three I purchase for resale, the best is Back to Eden in Sydney, Joseph and his team make life easy for us organite retailers. The other in Sydney is Eco farms and there is one in Brisbane we use when the other two are short, United Organics. I hope this is what you wanted. Best of luck if you would like a friend at this end you have one. I am more than willing to take your produce when it is certified. :)
