I just saw a news clip of George Bush predicitng 140,000 new high tech jobs in Texas by the year 2000. He wants Texas to be a high-tech super power. No mention of y2k. I live in Texas and am wondering what is going on!

Sounds like a classic case of denial. George W. has plans of being the next president; however, this can't happen if there are no elections in 2000. So everything HAS to be OK. As the Y2K news gets bleaker, you'll see more of this type of denial.
