caboose history

Tom--your caboose was built between 8/71 and 3/72 and configured as a "local" caboose. These had a yellow bay window area designating their local status. Since they were only used for local switching they had no radio or electric lights and were outfitted with 2nd hand freight trucks. We'll keep an eye out for any lists of assignments and retirements, etc.--Larry

Tom:at the risk of dealing in ancient history, as you might already have the info on X-221.I saw this car in storage at Chattanooga on June 30,1983. Got several good shots of it, and recorded its stencil data. It was built 12-71 and painted at Hayne (HE)4-79.All cars X-216- X-226 were constructed in December 1971.
