Vertex 2000

I happened to see the "Nerd File" in the Jan. 12th (this year) New Yorker. The article states that Bob Bemer, an old (77) ex-IBM'er, was coming out of retirement to apply his Magic Bullet to object code of, I gather, COBOL, Pl/I, etc., programs. Bell Atlantic was supposedly interested. "Vertex 2000" was to have been launched in January, and would save the $$ billions that many of us are collecting for fixing source code. Did this flop? Anybody hear any more about it?

Check it out and decide for yourself. They currently only list a version to fix COBOLII mainframe programs.
