Can anyone give me a synopsis of the 3rd tape?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Aeon Flux : One Thread

The third tape is out, Operation Terminus! But I don't know what's on it. I'm assuming that it might pick up where the 2nd one left off? I saw the marathon and there were a couple of shorts that I had never seen before. I'm hoping that these might be on here! Does anyone know?

Operation Terminus? Really. How did you find out about it, where can we get it?

No prob. Check out www.videoexpress.com and search for it. Once again, thanks go out to JuntMonkey, who was the one who informed me. This is the ONLY online video store that seems to have it (I searched through about ten others). I've strictly switched to DVD only, so I won't be getting it anytime soon, but I'm hoping someone has at least seen it and could tell me what's on it.

I checked www.videoexpress.com today (Friday, May 1st) and they didn't have it. ?! Anyone know what's going on? I'm going to check in stores like Blockbuster, etc, this weekend.

You cannot do a search for "Operation Terminus" on the videoexpress sight. This is because the tape is listed as "Aeon Flux: Operat" or something like that. The title is too long for their database. Just do a search for "Aeon Flux" and you will get a list of all the videos including Operation Terminus.

I was going through random AF web pages today, and one said that "Operation Terminus" contained "Utopia or Deuteronopia?", "The Demiurge", "Ether Drift Theory", and the "Night" short. I can't confirm this since I don't have the video. I'm just going by what the page said.

I just went to videoexpress.com and found nothing on Operation terminus. I search under Aeon Flux and Aeon Flux: Operat but could find nothing. I am beginning to think this third tape is a myth. If i am doing something wrong please tell me what i need to do.

You know, you're right. It was there a while ago, but it's gone now. I guess they were being a little too expectant. I believe the tape exists, and the box set, but it my have been recalled, or delayed. Sigh.

You can find "Terminus" at www.videoserve.com. Just do a search for "Aeon Flux" and 3 hits will pop up. It cost about $15.

Well I went to videoserve.com and once again they do not have operation terminus. 3 hits did pop up but it was the 2 vhs videos and the DVD. I am almost willing to bet my life that this tape does not exist.

To finally answer the third tape question, go to www.videoserve.com and to a search under all products, title: Fon Flux and a bunch of things come up, including the boxed set and Operative Terminus. It's like $11 and some change. can't wait to get it....

I'VE GOT IT!!! I'VE SEEN OPERATIVE TERMINUS!!!

Yes, it does contain "Utopia or Deuteriopia?" "The Demiurge" and "Ether Drift Theory" as well as "Night."

I should point out a couple editing differences. For example, while Aeon Flux Video #1 showed both the title and the "synopsis" before each thirty-minute episode, and the title of the short. In Video #2, it only showed the title. (Also, the credits ran slower at the end, so they had to "extend" the credit music by making it repeat itself a bit). In "Operative Terminus," they don't show the title of the episode at all, but they do show the synopsis. I guess there's no accounting for regularity.

On the other hand, the synopsis was only a tool to help some people understand what was already going on, to help those who might have been confused. Sort of a "Cliffs' Notes" for the episode...I wonder if the producers thought to put that in because of the often uneasy-to-grasp, un-dumbed-down nature of "Aeon Flux." I actually thought the synopses were clever, myself.

That's a pretty cool site, something for everyone. I actually like it better than the print version.

The videos aren't THAT hard to find, are they? I have all three. I just walked into the video store at the mall, went to the Anime section and bought em. Operative Terminus has been out for a year now.

I was almost going to post this same thing a few days ago, I actually went and looked at my tapes to see if any said Operation Terminus, figuring it's so rare I must not have it, of course I have it. All I did was go to Tower records, it was on the shelf, I've seen it other places since then. I don't understand the shortage problem either.
