San Francisco Home Guard

My grandfather received a medal with "San Francisco Home Guard" on the front of it. Can you tell me something about the Home Guard? I believe this was about the time of World War 1.

The Home Guard was the organization that replaced the National Guard when it was called up for World War I. There were over 100 companies of home guard state wide under the command of the Adjutant General of Callifornia. San Francisco had 12 companies alone in the 1st Regiment of the California Home Guard. If possible, I would lke to get an image of this medal for our historical records.
