I am wanting to build a collection of recordings featuring the Anglo concertina on at least one track. Being that my list is short, I would welcome any and all suggestions. Email me directly or post to this board.

The Irish group Nomos has a Jefferies Anglo on every track of their CDs.

Here's a very nice list to get you started -- it's from the Appendix 7 (Discography) of "The Irish Concertina" by Mick Bramich (great book!) which also has a companion cassette featuring superb playing by Bramich (on a 30-button Jeffries anglo). See my "Learning" page for more info on the book. I think most of these are Anglo players, but I'm not sure about all of them. They all feature concertina quite prominently I think.

I would like to add a couple or so suggestions, An obscure LP that I have a taped copy of and no notes called Road Map of Ireland, delightful and Pure Drop concertina and whistle only. Also Check out Frank Edgley & son's new CD Bridges,(www.MNSi.net/~edgley/bridges.htm) Franks very prominant and solid anglo playing is right on top of most tracks.
Look out for Tommy Keane & Jacquline McCarthy Wind Anomg the Reeds for some outstanding piping and concertina (MMc Cd51 Maree Music Co, Treanlaur, Mareen, Co Galway, ireland Tel: 091 794344
Jacquiline's Father Tommy McCarthy has just released a CD featuring his piping and concertina work, sorry, I've heard it but do not yet own a cop to be able to give you the catalog numbers, but it should show up on the NPU uilleann piping pages soon.
And not mentioned on another post was Father Charlie Coen Solo self titled tape that may all ready be out of print, I like it better than the duet with his brother

I play the concertina on The Road Map of Ireland referred to in one of your earlier responses, and came across this site while using my ree AOL hours on a new computer. Let me know if you would like a copy, or any more details about the recording - it was produced by Outlet from Belfast c. 1981 in conjunction with a whistle player called Robert Mc Gouran from Dublin. Regards, Tom Mc Gonigle, 27 Croft Hill, Belfast, BT8 6GX.
