Isn't Moody's the key to awareness?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

Why havn't Moody's started to downgrade? Obviously they aren't convinced that we have a Y2K problem that may seriously affect bottom line. We can write all the books we want (including yours Ed), but the majority of people will be complacent about Y2K until companies like Moody's start downgrading. Does anyone out there know what Moody's is up to on this? Wouldn't for instance, recent FAA testimony cause them to start worrying about a few organisations and expressing those worries? Can someone please explain this?

I can explain it. They don't want to cause a panic.
