greenspun.com : LUSENET : B&W Photo - Film & Processing : One Thread

Hellow, While processing TMAX 400 film in D-76 there is some small brown spots in the exposed area. But there is no problems when processing in TMAX developer. This problem dosen"t shows to any films (Neopan ss, Ilford HP5 etc). Please kindly inform me the solution.

Note: I use fresh chemicals, always clean developing tanks, spulls, fresh water.I always maintain 26 degree Farenhait, the processing time of TMAX 400 in D-76 is 14 minutes.

Brown Spots

The problem may be with the batch of TMAX 400 film. Have you tried either film from another source or TMAX 100? TMAX films were originally created using D-76 as the developer so there should be no compatibility problems. You might even want to contact Kodak with the lot # of the film to see if they have had any other complaints.
