I have a 150 mm f2.8 lens for my 6x7, purchased in the early '70s. Does anyone know when and why this lense was discontinued? I also have a Rokonar 2x converter, giving me a 105, 150, 210 and 300mm range of focal lengths. I kind of like the 150, particularly for candid portraits.

I believe that this lens appeared in several versions, a Super Takumar and a SMC Takumar? Although I have not used this lens, one recent usenet posting suggested that is was the ideal portrait lens. Reason? Because it's a little on the soft side. Has this been your experience?
