Are there any good sources to locate public art sites in New York City? A Japanese publisher seeks the source to compile a map. : LUSENET : Public Art : One Thread

A Japanese publisher is seeking a source to compile a map for New York City's public art sites (sculptures, murals, etc.). I've been looking through several web sites, but there seems to be none. If you know any sources, please e-mail me.

Charlotte Cohen is the director of The NYC Percent for Art Program (212-841-4222 this number may have changed because their office moved to another building Summer 1998) which commissions public art for all NYC construction and renovation projects. A percentage of 1% of all capitol budgets are reserved for creating public art. Michelle Cohen or Gregory Frux(718-391-6517) at Public Art for Public Schools, The NYC Bd of Education administer scores of public art throughout our school system. I have completed 3 NYC % for art projects. You may contact me if you wish.
