Best Lines : LUSENET : TitanicShack : One Thread

Well I think the best line(s) are when Rose says to her fiance "You unimagineable bastard" then he grabs her and then she spits in his face just like Jack taught her. Another one is well Rose and Jack both say this but not at the same time but here it is "You jump I jump remember?" I LOVE that line!!

Amy, I agree with your two quotes. They are quite good, and are two of my favorites also. There are a few other quotes that i liked also: -when they are on the driftwood at the end, and she tells him "I'll never let go, jack. I'll never let go." -when they are all headed for the back of the ship and they get behind a guy saying "as i walked to the valley of the shaddow of death.." and leo interupts saying "i wish you would walk a little faster to that valley there!"

I could sit and name many many more, but i won't waste that much space. my basic favorites are all the little smart remarks leo makes. They crack me up! :)

My favorite lines in TITANIC were when Jack asked Rose, "Do you trust me?" And she replied, "I trust you." And then later when they are on the back of the stern as it is sinking and Jack says, "We're going to make it, Rose. Trust me." and she says "I trust you."

I agree with all the quotes that people have noted here. Some of them illustrate the emotional impact of words - isn't it amazing that some of the most memorable lines are from scenes where others would have marvelled at the spectacular FX - especially during the sinking.

Anyway, my contribution, which I don't think anyone has yet noted is at the beginning of the film where Rose sets eyes on the Titanic for the first time with the words: 'It doesn't look any bigger than the Mauretania'. (This may actually be her first line - I'm not sure someone what to back me up on this one?) I remember this line particularly because although 'old Rose' explained that it was a 'slave ship' to her, I think it also serves to set up Rose's character for the rest of the film i.e. that she doesn't believe in the superficial and she doesn't want to follow convention by marvelling at her (Titanic's) splendour. Now translate this onto Jack later on in the film 'You have a gift Jack, you see people for what they are.' 'Why can't I be more like you?' Surely in a way she already is - it is only being suppressed by her imposed requirement to follow convention What does anyone else think about these lines?

Personally, I think my favorite line was when Jack was drawing Rose, and she said, "I do believe you are blushing, Mr. Big Artiste. I can't imagine Monsieur Monet blushing." The look on Jack's face, when he replies, "He does landscapes," kills me everytime, and I've seen it six times!

I agree with Kate, the one liners in the film are superb. How about when Rose introduces herself to Jack as Rose De Witt Bukater and he says "I'll have to get you to write that one down for me". Cracks me up everytime!!!

i agree with everyone i loved the whole movie so much.but the best line was when sh said ill never let go of that promise ill never let go.......(sob)

I heard somewhere that when Jack says to Rose "Sit down on the bed, I mean the couch" that it was actually a mistake that Leo made but they thought it was funny and left it in the movie.

I just thought of a line that I don't think anyone has mentioned.. when Jack is leaving the 1st class dinner table and all the gentlemen "retreat into a cloud of smoke and congradulate each other on being masters of the universe" Rose says, "Jack must you go? " he says, "Time for me to go row with the other slaves" : )

I love it when Rose tells Cal "I'd rather be his whore than your wife."

My favorite line was when the one Irish (I think) guy tells Jack as he looks up at Rose for the first time: "Angels will sooner fly out of your ass before you get next to the likes of her!" I don't know about you but I never saw and angel come out of his butt and they got VERY close.
