Need some help with idea's!!!

greenspun.com : LUSENET : B&W Photo: Creativity, Etc. : One Thread

I'm about to start school and I should have already come up with a great idea or idea's for my first B+W photo. I want to use Reptition,Line or loads of techture, but with a subject that I'm not sure of yet. If anyone has any idea's of what kind of subjects/artistic shots that look great in B+W I'd be much appreciative. The school subject is Studio Arts so the piece must be arty or represented in an original or artistic way.

Thanks for your time, hope to hear from you.

Fran :-)

Here are two suggestions:

1) Think about things that interest you. Figure out which ones have the qualities you mention.

2) Go to the library and look through books of photographs until you find some subjects that have what you want and are available locally.

I think you may take better photographs if you use #1, since you will have more feel for the subject. I have never done well photographing something that didn't interest me at some level other than just a photographic subject.

I live in a rural area. I have noticed that aspens, or other straight trees, reflected in a body of water in late afternoon, make a great statement in line and form. I have had much success with this idea. Feel free to let your imagination run wild. Pick anything that catches your eye. Good luck
