Paper age spots

I recently finished off a box of Kodak Polymax FA paper that I'd had for about 6 months. As I printed the last ten or so sheets I noticed there was a slight mottling of very small spots or dark areas that were light gray in color and just barely visible in the pure white areas of the print. I ran a few tests by fixing a piece of the paper without developing and the base looked white as ever but when I developed an unexposed sheet the mottling was there. Has anyone ever noticed Polymax go bad like this? Or are there any other problems anyone knows about with Polymax Fa. Thanks

I myself got the same problem as you. I had no answer from my dealer. Bad storage they told me. Try to use new Polymax II RC. Mauricio

I've had the very same problem with paper stored for 2 or 3 years and exposed to tempatures ranging from 32F to 110F

I ran into a similar problem, as it turns out it was finger prints. I must have contaminated my hands, it was very slight mottling and little tiny black spots on the paper. after looking carefully at them I could see the pattern of finger prints. that was easy to fix. I also had some old paper which had some kind of staining, brownish colored that only showed up after developing, tossed that whole box.
