Mini Enlarger

greenspun.com : LUSENET : B&W Photo - Printing & Finishing : One Thread

Several years ago I read an article about a mini b/w enlarger that clamps to the edge of a table or toilet seat (?) and can only print 5x7's or smaller. I have become very interested in this enlarger since I have moved into a very small flat. Does anyone know what this enlarger is and how well it functions?

With the Beseler Printmaker 35 and a lot of other small enlargers on the market I wouldn't waste my time on a tiny specialty item. You are still going to need a good lens, processing trays, etc. Get a decent low end(inexpensive) enlarger that can be easily pulled apart & won't take up much space in a closet when torn down. You will find it more usable than anything else, even in an area with little space. Plus it will give the options of larger than 5x7 prints.

In general, I agree with Dan Smith.

However, if you decide to buy a minimal-size enlarger, check DURST MAGICO. It can be easily clamped to a table and allows elargements even greater than 5x7.
