I have found that using Photographers Formulary TF-4 fixer will dramatically reduce the purple tint remaining in the film after processing. This is an ALKALINE fixer and the use of PLAIN WATER STOP BATH is manditory, but should be used anyway, no matter what fixer you use. TF-4 is particularly effective in eliminating the magenta tint in T-Max film also.

What kind of Fixer is TF-4? Can you send me its Formula? It is Kodak type fixer or Can I do it in my home? Sodium Hipossulfite?

Purple Delta 400

TF-4 is an alkaline fixer made by Photographers Formulary (http://www.montana.com/formulary/) and available from many specialty photo dealers. This is the best fixer for film I have found. I don't use it for paper because, in my experience, it causes staining of the prints. Paper needs an acid stop and fix, although I don't use hardener.
