B&W Multigrade on Ilfochrome 'plastic' base

greenspun.com : LUSENET : B&W Photo: Creativity, Etc. : One Thread

Someone mentioned seeing Ilford Multigrade IV coated on the Ilfochrome super glossy polypropylene paper. He said it looked almost as if the print were still wet in the rinse. A tremendous creative tool for exhibiting fine prints. Will we ever see this product on the shelves of our photo stores. If it was, given Ilfords 200 year life expectancy of Ilfochrome Classic, would you try or use it? I would love to the that 'look' on some B&W prints.

I would try it once, but I'm afraid in the end I would like fiber-based printing better and there is an alternative if you want this for certain 'ilfochromogenic' images: copying the print on slide and print this on Cibachrome.
