Purple Negatives

First, thanks to everyone that answered my Zone question. Now I just used Delta 400 for the first time. I developed it in ID-11 for 10.5 min, with a 1+1 dilusion. Then stop bath for 30 sec and then Kodak rapid fixer for 4 min. My negs all look purple but otherwise in focus. Any Ideas? Thanks!!!

May be there are some problems in the chemicals, storage is the first priority of the chemicals. Why you don't try KODAK D-76, and in Fixer you can make it by Hypo crystal 300gm for 1000 ml with 35gm Sodium metabie sulphite (Hypo 300gm+water 970ml +Meta:sulphite 35gm = 1000) this is working solution.

Maybe it isn't a problem: Delta films often have a slight overall purple cast. However, you may not have fixed enough. These "new" B&W films (Delta, T-Max, etc) need more fixing than the old ones (HP5+, Tri-X, etc). Re-fix for 10 minutes, and see if there is a difference.

A lot of the time your negatives are purple or pink cast due to improper or short fixing times. Fix longer with fresh solution.
