toners that work on plastic paper? (RC Paper question)greenspun.com : LUSENET : B&W Photo - Film & Processing : One Thread |
Hello, everyone.Question: which other toners work on plastic papers, besides Kodak Sepia? I have tried Agfa Viradon Brown, with no results, and I don't think that Kodak Rapid Selium is a hit either. Any suggestions? I know that some toners are just for preserving the prints better, but I'm particularly interested in changing the tone of the pics (possibly to something else than just brown).
PS: I know that most (or even all) toners work on fiber, but I just prefer working on plastic.
Thanks a lot,
ulix

Kodak selenium, Agfa virdon and Kodak sepia all work well on Ilford MG RC paper but did not work well on Kodak Polycontrast RC.

I use Kodak Rapid Selenium on RC paper dilution 1:20 just for slight increase of D-max and permanence. Tried up to 1:3 with no significant tone change (ILFOSPEED). On the oder hand all gelatin toners work well on RC papers.

I have used a sepia toner that is specifically designed for RC papers. It's made by a company called Berg and it's pretty much the same as any other sepia process: you bleach and then you tone. Results were good and there is an added bonus - there's no smell! Berg makes a variety of toner colours but I have only tried the sepia.
