Guess what!!!! We have an offer on our house. With my razor sharp negotiating skills we should be getting in the neighborhood of $6.1m(or $55k). You're all invited to our new farm (Dec. 1st?? through eternity) for some egg collecting, goat milking, hog killing (not really), hayriding, sex in the barn loft, stall mucking -out, organic cheeb,( it's starting to sound better, isn't it?), and pond swimming. Your unruliest dogs are ALL welcome at my farm. And it's 1/4 mile from the Dan River Access above Hanging Rock on the very same dirt road (where Dale wrecked the pick-up in 1990). It's 5 acres with an acre pond. Can you dig it?

Knocking on Wood

Hey Carol!

The deal's not done yet! Let's not jinx it.

Of course - if we get lucky, I say we hold a big to-do on Dec 1 - bring your pick-ups, hand trucks, and tents - that's MOVING DAY! We;ll provide the beer, burgers and condiments.

Sweet Home Danbury

Well, I've already sent this out in the Albatross:UPDATE, but I'll post here for continuity.

Our latest counter-offer on the Danbury house/mini-farm was accepted!

So, pending inspections and closings at our current and proposed residences we should be shipping in to the Danbury area on December 2!

If anyone is familiar with the area we're moving to Flinchum Road which is the road you take to the Hanging Rock State Park Dan River Access. Lot's of canoers, kayakers, and tubers use the road. Only one other house on it. Should be acceptable for Freddy's Drumming Brigade! Of course, you still have sleeping babies to contend with.

Lots of undeveloped hills and hollers adjacent to our 4+ acres. Come help us move in and explore!

delays!!!!!!

Well, despite our best wishes - and those from you guys - the home inspectors discovered that a band of nasty termites infiltrated Terminix's guard and basically destroyed an entire interior wall of our house - which means that it must be repaired before closing - which is going to push that out to mid-December.

Hoping to set a new move date before Christmas!

We're all disappointed, but our wonderful buyers are hanging in there and aren't ready to jump ship yet - just want to make sure they're getting a house that's not going to cave in on 'em.

Terminix, on the other hand, is not to be trusted - read the fine print before you sign a service contract with those assholes! Not only do we have to get stuff repaired, but our buyers are asking for an alternative termite protection contract with ANYONE other than Terminix based solely on the experience we're having now.

real great

Congratulations! I know this has been a dream of yours for a long time. Are you guys going to sponsor a Swansog Mini-Commune Camping Weekend? Sounds like an excellent place for one, and you guys can attend and stay home at the same time!

Congratulations!

Looking forward to helping you move or at least to frigid camping on your 4 acres Dec. 2!
